You can always change the beat

While rummaging today, I found my old metronome.

It reminded me of my former piano teacher who wanted me to play "For Elise" on a students' audition, and she wanted me to play it rather fast. I couldn't do it through some passages and sat at the piano crying while I was training. I remember my Dad coming into the room and telling me: You can always change the beat!

Today, it made me smile and I can say - yes, it's true, you can ALWAYS change the beat.:)
