I love London zoo. I know it's no longer the biggest or the best, but it's the zoo I went to as a child, and I like it's smallness.

I love zoos generally as well. I know that a lot of people have objections to wild animals in captivity (I do find the gorillas sad. And the big cats), but I think the zoos now do an awful lot towards conservation, breeding and raising awareness. And I like to look at the animals.

Very pleasing moment today when Jamie watched a staff member climb into one of the reptile tanks, and announced that he now shares my ambition for my dream job - to be a zoo keeper
