Take off
A kingfisher again - I blame you for encouraging me ;))
I waited for this one in the same place as it was fishing yesterday, it didn't go to the exact same perch, but just a meter or two away from it, then it took off, as you can see, perched right in front of my hide and dived for a fish - alas too close to focus on, but I got a great sight of it with a fish.
I would have stayed longer, but there was shooting all around, I couldn't tell how far off, but as it is after lunch and the aperitif hour has passed, I didn't want to chance a stray bullet - especially with the velocity of what they use to kill wild boar.
It seems so incompatible with everything else - walkers, cyclists, mushroom pickers - well everything and I will never understand how people get a kick and enjoyment from killing animals for 'fun'. Then again, maybe I'm a bit slow or summat….
Rain was promised, although it did rain during the night, nothing happened this afternoon, bright sunlight and a little cloud - perfect!
Now I'm going back to writing a few words - hopefully get to 5 or 6,000 by the end of the day.
I hope your Sunday is a good one!
