Adventures at Gwelup

Bonnie is so used to being walked off the lead in crown land that I started feeling bad for her mostly on-leash walks around the city (at least until we get to designated dog parks). So I googled dog parks today and came up with this beauty on the north side! Lake Gwelup reserve. A good mixture of wide open grassy fields, small tracts of native forest/bush and a rather large lake!

Unfortunately I found out once we were arrived that there are no dogs allowed into the water - understandable with the amount of birdlife present, but it meant I had to keep yelling at Bonnie to get out! She has become a real water baby and at one stage was in right up past her belly!

This lake is really beautiful with a great abundance of birdlife - I'll have to come back minus Bonnie sometime (shhh) for a spot of bird watching and photography!

For those interested in the Maggie - I did go back this afternoon to where I had seen him armed with a container full of mealworms. I wanted to see if he could eat ok. But he was nowhere to found... I hope that is good news for him.
