purple and white

This is the first photo taken with my new 50mm lens. It arrived at lunchtime and I had great fun playing with it and experimenting with different aperture settings. I'm a complete amateur, but the great thing about digital cameras is that you can play away as much as you like, and just delete the disasters (of which there were plenty. This is not great either, as the depth of filed was so shallow (is that the right term), but it was the first one, and I will get better.

These are my anniversary flowers, still going strong 8 days later :)
