Burg Eltz

Our overnight stop on Sunday was in a small village by the Mosel river near Koblenz. I'd picked it because I had fading memories of its beauty from a school exchange trip around 20 years ago. One of the attractions of this part of Germany is the Burg Eltz, perched on the hillside, accessible by walking along a forest track. As it was just up the road from where we were staying, and we had time to kill before heading to our final destination, we thought we'd go for a visit. I'm very glad we did. It all took a bit longer than I'd anticipated, once we'd stayed for a guided tour and some lunch, but was a lovely way to spend our time.
