Star of the Day

I got invited on a driving day with Mercedes AMG. We all drove each car twice, but this SL65 was my favourite. The 630bhp, V12 roadster, with a basic price of £168,000. But with its ceramic brakes, dynamic seats, and matte paint, I reckon you'd not get much change from £200,000.

On the road it was utterly ballistic. Immense pace, grip and braking capability mean that the car is quite literally able and willing to go as fast as you want.

Sadly, the weather did not facilitate any top-down motoring. But in a day of great cars, this one was heroic. Now, to call Camelot...
