Last Shop Standing

Tor Records in Glastonbury, our local Independent Record Store, closed today; the owner is retiring and, although she had found someone to buy it off her, the landlord apparently wanted to double the rent, which the prospective new owner couldn't afford. Lots of people, including us, were taking advantage of their 75% discount closing sale.

The guy behind the counter at the back is hoping to open his own store in Beaminster in Dorset, but our nearest one now is in Yeovil.

Talking of Yeovil, spent this afternoon putting together two new bookshelves for those books I blipped the other week and listening to The Glovers 2 - 0 defeat at Leeds; back to our old problem of not taking our chances, despite playing as well as them for much of the game, whereas they did. Oh well, there's always the FA Cup holders, Wigan, to look forward to at home next Sunday; perhaps they'll tire themselves out in Europe on Thursday!
