New Flat!
First of all, thanks everso much for all your kind comments yesterday. I think your good wishes and positive vibes worked! It went SO smoothly. Not a single hiccup. As soon as our lads arrived they told us not to stress - that was their job. They were brilliant. We even popped up to our local cafe for a coffee when they had a fag break. It was full of film crew, and the main actress, whose name I don't know.
We met our sellers there, as they'd popped in for a coffee while cleaning up the flat. They had had a very stressful day on Thursday. Their removal folk were terrible, including a two hour wait midday for another truck to turn up, and they didn't finish up till about 6pm. We knew that, because we drove by.
The flat is just great. So many things are far better than what we had, best of them being the wee wood burner, which is heating the place and smelling lovely as we speak.I've been using up the miles of crumpled newspaper, making paper kindling knots like my mum used to do. I was knee deep, nay, waist deep in crumpled paper all morning. And that's only a fraction of the boxes done.
TV, phone and wifi all sorted this afternoon. Just having a wee breather watching rugby on TV before getting back to my chores. Won't have time for commenting... Sorry. And thanks again for yesterday.
This is an iPad shot of our new lounge window view. The lovely orchid arrived this morning from our pals in Oz. Thanks, T & S! We also had our first post (not re-directed) and it was a poem to welcome us to out new home. Thanks A & B!
That hedge will need doing soon. I'll need to buy a hedge clipper! Or else get a chap to do it...
Hmmm. Think I'll get a chap to do it...
