How Much Is That Truffle In The Window?

Today I finally broke down and visited the new Wegman's that has opened in Milestone, about 20 minutes from us. I didn't believe the hype, but wow, the fresh meats and fish, and the fresh fruit and veg were amazing. Lots of organic stuff and much better quality than we usually see here. They even had a proper cheese counter with a person chopping slabs of cheese with a wire, like I used to remember them doing in Woolies when I was a kid. This is the first time I've seen truffles in a shop, and they were kept under lock and key. I guess that at $999.00 a pound, you can't blame Wegman's for erring on the safe side.
