DUNNIKIER PARK AGAIN
In the first decade of the C18th a young man followed his father, a Sea captain, into maritime trade and became very successful leading his family into honour and riches.
Thus began the rise of the Oswald family whose wealth was significant enough to purchase lands known as Dunnikier and have built there around the year 1790 the mansion pictured here, "a handsome mansion beautifully situated in a richly-wooded demesne". In 1972, after varying existences it became a hotel as it is today.
