Frank Sidebottom Remembered...

There's been a recent unlikely addition to Timperley's high street. A life-size bronze statue of comedy character Frank Sidebottom, designed by north west sculptor Colin Spofforth, is a tribute to both the comic character and his inventor Chris Sievey who passed away in 2010. Fans raised £60,000 for the tribute. Frank often referenced Timperley in his TV and music work and so it is fitting that he will be remembered for long to come in the centre of the village.
