The Elements..

..(or the continuing battle against them)!!..

It's rained today. Only 8 mm in the guages this morning, but just managed to get back to the shed before it poured down. Hail and rain for 20 minutes or so and everywhere was soaked. It brightened up then for a bit, and G got the washing out. Then it rained again. And again. And again.

I was alright, and have finished the prep work for the calendar, and sent it off for "proofing"..

Took Tanni over the croft after getting the firewood in. Everywhere's saturated. Pic shows the top and bottom veg patches, with the wet patches clearly visible. The ditch running through the top patch needs digging out and cleaning. I've only dug about half of this so far. You can see how the water spreads over from near left to far right. I might have to ditch the sides as well, but this makes cultivating difficult.. At the bottom, the water from the left quarter flows left to the track, and then down towards the gate. Until it gets to the end of the cabbage patch, and then it diverts across the veg patch. The lakes to the right drain eventually, but this is why I've not done anything here.

I have seen it wetter. I've seen A's shed in the croft to the right isolated by a lake. Not that bad.. Yet!!
