One of the enriching things about living in Australia is being part of its multicultural character. There are, for example, about half a million folk who are Greek-born or of Greek descent. Not too many have settled in the Batemans Bay area, but enough for a wealthy Greek to have built this church for them. St John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church does not hold regular services, but it's there for marriages, baptisms, funerals and other special occasions, when a priest comes down from Canberra to officiate.
