Half-term
A time for useful things like haircuts. This one was a big one as it is the first time Anna has had more than a trim; the last few of which have been at my hand. She wasn't convinced by the whole experience beforehand but after the washing, cutting and drying she quite skipped out and I suspect that it is my hair cutting career over.
J was at a maths class because that is what he asked if he could do. I might not understand him but I love my little nerd so much.
More things ticked off with a trip to Westfield resulting in new coats all round and various other essential items and an opportunity to spend birthday money on marbles and pillow pets (cuddly monkey in the shape of a pillow. Sort of.)
Unintended excitement of the day after I witnessed a woman being knocked off her bike by a car door opening. The sound of body, bike and door was quite something and brought my run up short as I stopped to call an ambulance. On the positive side the amount of people who rallied with blankets and offers of assistance was heartwarming. The fact that a first aider and two nurses wandered by as we waited for an ambulance seemed to be happy chance. Fortunately I think the woman will be fine save for shock and a lot of bruises. A salutary reminder to pay greater attention to cyclists.
And we ended the day with a visit from an architect. And a doubling of our guesstimate budget. Hm, oddly I was not surprised.
I like the holidays and hanging out with the munchkins.
