Pretty Pink!
These just caught my eye late this afternoon. I liked how the sunlight shone on the petals.
We had a long day today. We attended a funeral for a very wonderful man with 8 adult children and many grandchildren. He lived 83 years and was taken from us by cancer. The church was packed. Easy to see how he touched so many lives with his generousity and passion for life, and yet still be a contankerous fiesty old man! Many of his children and grandchildren sang with their beautiful talented voices. It was a very touching day.
I enjoyed a conversation with his 26 yr old grandson, whom I've known since his birth. We were discussing how differently he is dealing with this grandfather's passing than his other 2 grandparents 12 years ago. Just in know his grandfather as he had become an adult, he feels his loss so much greater. And again mourns the lost of the other grandparents because of the time he didn't get to know them. We decided that maybe that's how we are suppose to learn to apprieciate the time we have with each other, by experiencing such loss. And we are both so fortunate with such large families that come we from, we have really not experienced much sadness.
To leave on a happier note: I was glad to have the opportunity today to reflect on how much I apprieciate the wonderful family & friends I have!
