ADDENDUM

Addendum comes from the Latin phrase Addendum Est, so not much of a clue there other than to 'add to' - but why it is chiselled on War Memorials I have been unable to find out!

Never the less, I stood a while this morning and chatted with the Stonemason, who explained to me how he was having difficulty replicating the exact type face as the Memorial in Astley Park which was only erected this time last year had all the stone work carrying the names of the fallen, was done totally by machine!

I can't help admiring his profession which truly is an ART in itself.
