Preschool can be fun.....for the trainers
Preschool training today was in Ngongo, about a million miles from nowhere on some of the most testing roads in the universe and certainly not for the bony-assed.
We were celebrating two happenings, the initiation of two new preschools into our family and the arrival of two new roofs for existing ones, who were ready.
The picture shows Denise, a unique, volunteer, teacher from Ireland, with Miriam, one of our own trainers, having a ball showing two new carers how to learn with boxes or whatever home-made teaching equipment might come to hand.
A great day was had by all, chiefs, committees, carers, grannies and others, all of whom got involved in the action. Participation like I never saw before, but then Denise just has a way with people and so does Casca, Miriam and of course Mary.
Very happy and inspired communities.
Now at number 31 in the preschool stakes, the idea is spreading like an unstoppable virus: the good type of course. We just can't believe our eyes, and an all-Malawian effort. These women know what they want and they are just on-it.
