Buddy the Bug

Buddy was noisily flying around in the conservatory this morning. I have never seen a bug like him before - any suggestions as to what he might be please?

It's a glorious sunny morning, but extremely cold, (we had our first Autumnal overnight frost last night).

I'm flying around today a bit like Buddy but I'll do my best to keep up with comments.
