The light show on the first Bosphorous bridge, ahead of the firework display - which I thought was amazing but in typical Turkish pro-nostalgic tradition, people are telling me wasn't as good as last year. Also not the first time I've heard shortened firework displays linked to budgetary woes. Economists need to introduce the firework index as a key sign of a country's financial health.
