Cabbage tree tangle

Took a walk along the creek today and the perfume from all the cabbage tree flowers was beautiful. The cabbage tree ( cordyline australis ) grows all over NZ. As a youngster it can look rather scruffy as this one does, especially when growing next to a flax bush, but they can grow up to 20m tall and then they look magnificent.
