Kendrick Lake park, Lakewood Colorado

A wonderful xeric garden in a public park, they city of Lakewood is so far ahead of most municipalities on creating water conserving but beautiful public plantings.

This garden is so well done that I think it is in many ways easier for the public to imitate at home or pull pieces from then our plantings at DBG, which are wonderful and artistic but chucked full of plants.

Kendrick has a simple yet full design where the each plant is a specimen but part of the bigger composition as well.
