Whale

Sorry, this isn't a very good photo. But, the subject is interesting. This is a low-road rest stop which is famous for selling whale. In Nagasaki whale is a pretty common food, we even get it in school lunch a couple times a year and there are stores dedicated to whale meat. Aside from the moral issues, I don't particularly care for it. It's not more delicious than other meat. Most people I ask are pretty ambivalent to it as well, it's not like it's some extremely delicious delicacy that people crave and dream about. So, what's the big deal about stopping whaling? On that note, most people I've talked to have little to no concern about whaling, not recognizing that it is bad, of why it could be. But, even more, there is also a lack of interest in animal rights in general. This is surprising because people with dogs adore them, dress them in raincoats, push them in strollers and catch their poop in a paper (as opposed to picking it up off the ground). But I digress. Whale- not as delicious as you would think given the international trouble it causes.
