My Birthday

I think the best way to describe this is to copy the Email I sent to my Cousin in Law thanking her for my surprise gift...so here it is

Hi Sherry,
Finally get time to write my email. Thanks for my birthday surprise, really really enjoyed it, as you are about to find out. The first I knew about it was when Julie asked us over on Saturday, obviously We couldnt go so Ann had to tell me that I had some kind of surprise gift off you Steven and Evan. Ive got no idea what this is, could be anything, so Im obviously trying to figure it out. I went through someof tne obvious choices and ruled a few out......it couldnt be a mealbecause we were having a special meal on Saturday evening.....but then again it could have been a meal cooked by Steven for me ......? Ill leave out the rest of my speculations because they will make an appearance once the journey starts.
So Saturday comes and Im told to bet ready we are going somewhere.....I ask where and am told Ill will find out soon enough. So this is where my mind goes into overdrive, we could be going somewhere and the whole family jumps out shouting SURPRISE....have I been booked to play guiatar and sing ? Maybe its a game of golf, as we were travelling Annie mentioned that the Tesco superstore was over there, so Im ghinking am I going there to pick up something...no.
Sherry you get the idea whats happening, and at the same time Im reading directions, like take the next left at Junction 71, we are nearing our destination,At least I think we are and I see at the bottom of the page turn into estate....thats it we are going to a posh hotel for a spa day, then We enter the estate and its an Industrial Estate....???
We are lost...but then Inspector Clouseau (thats me) spots a sign The Durham Brewery, surely thats it, and it is. Still got no idea whats happening, we enter and find about 12 other guys, Im getting a little nervous so my sense of humour kicks into action.....the first thing I say to one of them is this the proverbial piss up in a brewery, amd it turns out it nearly was.
When it starts it brilliant, it was really interesting the beers we tasted were really nice the interesting bit would have been enough to make the day great. The thing that really made it special, other than it beinga surprise gift from you was the fact that owner who was giving the talk had already done about two tours so had imbibed quite a few samples himself. He kept forgetting things and then making funny asides, his wife was telling him off, was really good fun, right up my street funny and interesting.
I think I should end this now, but onelast funny incident, at the end we could buy pints, the guy next to me ordered 2 pints of Herkules, the owner of the brewery asked him how much they were, the bloke looked at me then told him they were £2.80 perpint, he then asked well howmuch is that the guy said £5.60........so then theowner said thank you thatll be £4.40 we just looked at each other and smiled.
