New Kitchen Day 4 - The Back door...

Did you know that B&Q refer to doors by handle side? Apparently everyone else refers to them by the side with the hinges, right or left hung...

We learnt this lesson this morning when the builder did the very sensible step of checking the door first. When Mrs TFP bought the door, she was very specific about which way the door would swing and observantly noticed the packaging saying that it didn't come with a sill. The B&Q 'expert' however said that it was all in order.

So this morning we had to go back up to B&Q, and luckily pick up and replace the door with an opposite that was on the shelf.

Did you also know that B&Q's turnaround on ordering a sill for a door is 21 days!!! Again, luckily, there was a glazier next door that was able to provide one off the shelf cut to order.

So, a stressful day to say the least but thankfully, where this wall only had 2 windows, it is now sporting a brill new full glass back door.
