At Hampton Court Gardens: Painterly Pumpkins...x
Hampton Court Gardens is a visual paradise. Every natural formation sits in perfect unison to its surroundings. Its a journey from the kitchen garden, to formal garden, to the playful maze to a centre piece of a trickster tower. Hampton Court Castle fails to dominate its surroundings. It perfectly part of its 1000 acre landscape. Balanced.
The architect Sir Joseph Plaxton, also designed The Crystal Palace, and the The Spa in Scarborough. He really understood architecture and form within nature. He understood nature, curving lines, height, depth, light, and dark.... He creates a visual journey, full of wonder and surprises.
