Up, up and away

I was pretty worried about taking this flight with gale force winds predicted, but my brother-in-law (who is in the RAF) assured me that taking off in windy conditions is really great... more thrust means you ascend quicker or something. As it turned out we almost missed the flight due to the bad road conditions and several road closures and gridlocked diversions to get through. I've never been so keen to catch a flight that I don't actually want to get on. We made it by the skin of our teeth, and my brother-in-law turned out to be quite right, the take off was fine and this was the view as soon as we got above the clouds. Very pleased to get back to sunshine and warm weather in Cyprus. We have house guests this week so commenting may be a bit sporadic.
