Some people say that humanity has had a fascination with the humble foot for thousands of years - and this rather large looking sculpture from the Great North Museum : The Hancock certainly tips a hat off in that direction...

At least we can be very grateful that it is only a carving, considering the potential for bad foot odour really doesn't bare thinking about.
