Local history

This morning was the inaugural meeting of The Flashers, our new camera group, and 10 of us enjoyed a leisurely stroll around our local village of Lingfield, Surrey with cameras and local guide. She showed us more about the village in 30 minutes than I've seen in the last 30 years and shared with us her extensive knowledge of architecture and history. Best of all was the luxury of walking around taking photos without the comments of 'oh, do come on' 'what do you want a picture of that for' and 'I'm going without you if you don't hurry up'.
Today's blip is of the door bell on Church Gate Cottage, the cottage was built c1500, the door bell is more recent!
PS We ended up having lunch in a local pub where one of our crowd admitted that she'd forgotten to bring her camera but enjoyed the walk anyway! Did we notice? You can probably guess!
