Exploring Fingal Head

Today with my friend I revisited a place that I had not been for years.
I forgot how beautiful it was up on the headland...and how windy.....I had to take out my earrings before they ripped my ears off.

I had also forgotten about this beautiful little lighthouse built in 1878 it is the oldest public building for many a mile around. Sorry Sleepyhead I forgot to bring you here...next time

This is Bunjalung Country and the Aboriginal inhabitants of the Fingal Peninsula are of the Cudgingburra Clan...which is part of the Bunjalung Nation.

Captain Cook use to call this place Point Danger around 1770 I believe........ I can understand why.

Fingal Head is so rich in Aboriginal Myth and History and the Aboriginals call this place Buninybah which means Echidna Country....I guess that means that a lot of Echidnas live here...I will have to try and find out the stories at a later date.

Much more to tell about this place but most of all I was so happy to find a new place to blip even though quite a ways from home. ..there is much exploring to do around here....and when the wind isn't blowing a gale I could put up my tripod and try some LE on the crashing waves.

Petals

Even when you tear its petals off one after another,
the rose keeps laughing and doesn't bend in pain.
"Why should I be afflicted because of a thorn?
It is the thorn which taught me how to laugh."
Whatever you lost through fate,
be certain that it saved you from pain.
