Buchanty Spout

Having been alerted to the salmon leaping activity at Buchanty Spout near Crieff by The Wren, I took my fisherman husband for a surprise drive there this afternoon. He was in seventh heaven as he watched loads of salmon of all sizes attempting to leap up the fierce falls here. The river is not yet high enough to allow them an easy passage, but that didn't stop them trying and we think one or two of the more powerful fish may have made it further upstream.

As The Wren mentioned in her journal, it was extremely difficult to catch the salmon on camera as it all happens so quickly, but I managed about half a dozen "catches" out of about 50 shots! Just to prove it, have a look at this one here, which is even better in Large!

Somehow I think we'll be back there before too long:-)
