Celebration

This morning we had our ceremony for the Turkish Republic Day (90 years since Ataturk declared the 'Republic of Turkey' on October 29th 1923). This national celebration officially runs from 1pm on 28th October through all day on 29th, during which time all schools are closed. Hurrah. In fact, almost everywhere is closed. A National Holiday.

We had speeches, video, dancing and a super performance from the RC Singers, conducted by my colleague, Koray, ending with the 'Ten Year March" (written in 1933), where the choir led the the whole student body in the singing. Rousing stuff.
