Electricity = Light and Heat.........
...........taken for granted by most of us!
Our Village has been SO fortunate to have not been affected by all the chaos caused by the gales in so many other parts of the Country. Let us give thought to all the many thousands in the South who are without Power to heat their homes, are unable to cook a hot meal, travel to work or even watch TV - especially the old and the housebound.
Also, those whose homes have been damaged or flooded.
The latest news seems to be good in that the worst may well be over - let us hope so!
A big thank you too to all the engineers - some of whom may have worked all night in high winds and rain to help restore power where possible - not a nice job!
The weather here was pretty awful first thing this morning but by about 10.30am, the rain had stopped, the wind had dropped considerably and the sun came out! The Temperature then was around 50 Deg.F but has risen to 54 Deg by 1.30pm.
Hoping you are all safe and well.
I am sure all of us will want to send our heartfelt sympathy to the parents whose 14yr Son is missing - feared drowned.
