More fungus

Piptoporus betulinus to be precise, one of the most common polyporous bracket fungi. It's found almost exclusively on birch trees. Large if you'd like.

I took a walk next to the river again today, shooting images of the river and fall colors. At the end of my walk I slid down an embankment to get closer to a group of birch trees with these interesting growths adorning the trunks. Lucky for me that I did, since nothing else from the day ended up to be worth saving.

I have to admit, I'm incredibly uninspired. It's been so wet, gloomy and challenging outside; the last couple of days have been wildly windy to-boot. It can't possibly last much longer, right? (sigh)
