Chauffeur service

Picked up J returning on this pendolino from Newcastle. The Newcastle to Carlisle connection had run a few minutes late and so this meant a very rushed connection with little or no time for studying the screens. I got a fraught text just after the train was pulling out of Carlisle station asking "the Euston train does stop at Oxenholme doesn't it?" All was well, and he has had a good time, luckily (phew) he has concluded that uni life despite its freedom from parents does not quite compare with his (paid) Engineering apprenticeship. Long may it continue!

The spare room has been the focus of the weekend with the carpet fitter due tomorrow. Meanwhile the rest of the house looks like a bombs hit it, how can one small room cause such a lot of upheaval?
