Falling short

Was tossing up between two photos yesterday and went with the curtsying bird. So, today I thought I'd go back and get another photo of the alternative.... and here it is. Not as happy with this as the one I took yesterday. Was getting dark, so it's really not sharp. Ah well. Minor quibble in the scheme of things.

J and I went to see Balibo tonight. It is the story of the Australian and NZ journalists who were murdered in East Timor in 1975 by the invading Indonesian army shortly after Timor had declared its independence from the Portugese. One of the most powerful movies I've ever seen. Pretty awful indictment on Australia too. Up there with our treatment of refugees and the indigenous population...
