THIS HILL HAS STILL

that wonderful autumnal look. In the fresh morninglight it looked fairy-tale like.
Our oak has still many leaves but the beech has overnight lost all hers.
The sky was softly blue with only at the horizon some clouds, they gave the impression of some big animals chasing each other, but soon enough it started windy and more and more clouds filled the sky.
In the afternoon it was high time to go for a walk, in the forest was the idea. When we walked there we heard the wind blowing fiercely and some trees swayed, but we had taken the broad road and hoped for the best. It's Mischa's last day here and could we see please a fox or deers, or even boars if the other failed to be seen?
No we could not!
Our road went uphill and we walked rather slowly. When we reached the little bench and sat down for a moment, it dawned upon us, seeing the changing of the weather towards the possibility of rain, it would be a good idea to return, walk the same road back and have some tea and the shelter of our home.
A good choice! It started to rain softly and it did not bother us so much, as we were back in time before it poured down.
It sometimes looks as if the rest of the day will be very dark and then to your surprise an overall blue sky shows her friendly face again. And that happened today.
On the foot of the hill there is an abandoned hotel Zur Linde and a former brewery, that will be restored, higher up is the Hugenottenturm, not really an old ruin, but a tower build in 1913.
Mischa and I, we took both pictures on our walk and would have liked to show these but again not yet the ones we were looking for. So Mischa captured a hoverfly on a marigold, you can find here.

My haiku:

The storm silenced all
Birds, did the wood animals
Seek their hiding places

And the proverb:

Al is een moederhand ook arm, Zij dekt toch warm.

Translation: Even if a mother's hand is poor, she still tucks in warmly.
