The Gathering Storm

I guess the promised storm will be on us soon enough. My mum has a theory the lime tree outside my bedroom window is going to fall on my house. I don't see it myself. More likely the shed, garden fence or conservatory roof will go. I'm betting on the garden fence.

Yesterday I wasn't too well so spent the afternoon watching 'Run Silent, Run Deep' (Clark Gable, Burt Lancaster, WW2 sub yarn) and admiring yet again the wonderful black and white cinematography. So when I had a walk today, with flashes of sunshine but huge clouds piling across the sky at high speed, I couldn't resist trying for the same feel. I don't know if I have, but it was as near as I could get.
