Slow Worm
We came across this little chap crossing the road in the rain in the Dartmoor National Park.
Anguis fragilis, or slow worm, slow-worm or slowworm, is a limbless reptile native to Eurasia. It is also sometimes referred to as the blindworm or blind worm.
They are a protected species in the UK and as I didn't think it had a lot of protection against a land-rover I picked it up and released it in the hedge.
