Rainy Sunday afternoon

Another dreich day day. Couldn't face any actual gardening so went to a plant sale at the College.

Started at 2pm.
We arrived at 2.05.
Mad rush of people at 2.06.
Pretty much all plants gone by 2.21.

You can't afford to hang about here when there are bargains to be had.

We managed a fair haul of plants for £18. Including 3 tea-willows and a couple of trays of french marigolds which Campbell insisted he HAD to have as they looked happy. The money we saved by buying these plants at the sale, we spent on cake.

Our heating packed in yesterday. Not normally a problem for the start of June. But yesterday and today have been more like February. Luckily our little cast iron stove is cheering us up. So we are making the most of it and pretending it's not Summer.

BTW I have no idea what the plant in the picture is, we didn't buy one. I spotted it in one of the college gardens whilst waiting for the rush to pay to die down. About 30cm high, the basic plant looked a bit like a columbine (Aqueligia) but it had these funny seed heads on it. Anyone know what it might be?
