Where is everyone?

It is a long holiday weekend here, and it seems very quiet around town, alot of people must be away.

We went into town this afternoon, and driving home it seemed as if we were almost the only car on the road!
This is the view heading back towards our valley, with the Port Hills in front of us.

It always amazes me the difference with Christchurch compared with Auckland as a city, it really is quiet down here, we never really get traffic jams or major hold ups, not like the daily traffic chaos of the roads up there. I have been up in AK recently and it is madness every day, no matter what time of the day.....I couldn't live there now, I grew up there but it is too much for me now! Give me the quiet streets of Chch anyday.
