The Hunt for Color

My friend and I headed to Skyline Drive which is in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia today to see some fall foliage. Needless to say, after 90 minutes of driving, we were quite disappointed. The foliage above 3000 feet was mostly gone (expected) but thought we'd at least get some nice color below that level (wrong).

So we abandoned Skyline Drive and drove to another mountain range where we at least got some OK color. This was the "best" that we saw today...

300 miles of driving and I'm feeling a little wiped. Going to grab a quick dinner nearby and then come back home and have a quiet evening.
