Freedom!!!
Yay! I'm out of hospital!
After another week in the big house in Wrexham I came home last night and I can't tell you how good it feels to be home again.
Just as we were waiting for the hospital pharmacy to dispense my pain killers the heavens opened and there was a terrific thunderstorm complete with thunder, lightning and a torrential downpour for about ten minutes. We didn't think much of it until an hour later on the way home and we had to detour by several miles due to flooding, the main road to our town was under twelve inches of water. Anyway I'm waffling a bit here, did I tell you how good it is to be home?
Took a short stroll with the dogs to a small dog walking park close to where we live, this shot was all I got on my phone but I'm very happy with it, after being cooped up all week I love the openness it conveys.
The guys on my ward changed quite a bit whilst I was in there, I don't mean they turned into something else, but were replaced by other people on a regular basis. It's a surgical ward and feels like you're on a conveyor belt, as one is discharged another is admitted, often within minutes. Needless to say the staff were brilliant as per usual but no one can say they like being in hospital? I met several really nice chaps in there, one was 81 years old, bright as a button, great fun and very independent. He told me a joke one morning, it took a little while and then at the end he forgot the punch line. No problem though he remembered an hour later and came over on his Zimmer frame to tell me, we both had a good laugh about it even if it did hurt my tummy quite a bit. Another cause for joy... just had my first meal in over a week :-)
Have I mentioned that it feels great to be home? I bet you can tell can't you?
Thanks for your good wishes, it really does make me feel better to know others are thinking of me! I must also thank geordiepam for being brilliant as usual.
I hope to get back to a bit more regular Blipping now! Take care all and enjoy the rest of your weekend :-)
