Flame Tree
It gloried in pink and white blossom in the Spring, was a sky-reaching green broadsword in the Summer, and will be stark and naked in the Winter, but today it is a flame in a shaft of sunlight, though the sky is threatened with cloud.
It's our Prunus Amanogawa, Japanese Flowering Cherry, and a true delight in all seasons. Difficulty separating it from both the nearby and unexciting wall and the background of the vegetable patch, which the eye-brain conveniently ignore but the camera and the photograph can't, so I had certain problems with sorting out a suitable crop, and remain dissatisfied. But not with the Flame Tree itself! Oh, and I haven't yet learned how to remove the overhead cables with computer work — though I know the general principles and will crack that later this year, according to plan.
