UFO (UNIDENTIFIED FUNGAL OBJECT) !!

We went to the Phyllis Currie Nature Reserve at Great Leighs this morning. We spent some time in the bird hide, being entertained by a group of Little Grebes.

We then spent a couple of hours wandering around enjoying the autumnal colours. I took several pictures of fungi, of which there were many, but I chose this one for my blip. I have looked it up in a basic book I have but have been unable to identify it. Can anyone help??

We had a lazy afternoon, reading.
