Unseasonal

It's a week-end of anniversaries, a year since I committed to this house and a year tomorrow since D died.

A day at home for me, at last. I was up fairly early but didn't go for a swim. I must - soon. There has to be less of me, also soon. But I did do the things that had to be done. Top of the list was unpacking, putting things away. I'm not sure what to do with my damaged case. It will probably be an effort to get Monarch to do anything about it. After that I gave the hob a good clean and steeped broth mix. The trailing perlagonium may still be in full flower but winter is coming.

#2 son has a place in the London Marathon and his training started today, a run to the city centre. Attempts to speak to #'1 and #3 failed. Communication does not seem to be their forte.

I'd promised myself some gardening and the weather stayed fair. It was warm enough to be out without a jacket and there was not a breath of wind. My mission to cut back, dig out and re-shape continues. The west border looks a lot better but there are still a few things to move to the back of the border. That can probably wait till spring. At least I've made some room for the Cocker's roses which should be arriving next month. I've left the fuchsia for now as it continues to flower and I still have to shift some Canterbury bells. The weigela has a second flush of blooms as does the plant that last flowered in March. Tomorrow it will be dark at 5.

But we still have an hour of light tonight. I have soup to make, music to sort, accounts to check and a meal to make.

Happy Saturday.

In case you missed them there are back blips from Turkey here, here and the gulet trip starts here..

Amazing how quickly it all just becomes a memory. But I''m already thinking of the next break - Cambodia or Borneo?
