Scorpion In The Kitchen
< back blip >
This is a scorpion. A baby scorpion looks just like a miniature of an adult except for their color. Baby scorpions are light in color and adults are dark. The young are born one by one, and the brood is carried about on its mother's back until the young have undergone at least one moult. The young generally require between five and seven moults to reach maturity.
Scorpions have exoskeletons. They all produce venom.A baby scorpion cannot sting, however. Scorpions are nocturnal.
A scorpon's body is actually divided into two parts, the abdomen and the cephalothorax (or the thorax). Scorpions have four pairs of legs that are used to help thm walk. They develop two pairs of eyes on top and two to four pairs of eyes near the sides but have poor eyesight. They depend on feel. They have a mouth, and claws, and a very long tail. Scorpions are typically dull and drab in coloration and are usually grey, or black.
I found three dead baby scorpions in the house today when it was being cleaned. And two in the garage. This one was the most intact. The are dead because I have the house, inside and out, as well as the garaage, regularly professionally sprayed for pests six times a year (from early spring through November).
