We all came from the same pond

Freshwater algae -- an unpleasant sight to photographers, but these little lime creatures form the base of the food chain and are a vital component of ponds. They provide of food, and energy for zooplankton, fish, and birds. They absorb nutrients and heavy metals, echo the sounds of frogs, and the list goes on and on and on.

We all came from the same pond
slime without mind coalesced
this is a unity we constantly forget

Not a heritage of shameful scum
but a lesson in what can happen
if we let things run

Showing us we are all one
and that time must be given freedom
to find equilibrium
