lizi, riley and the new rug

Riley hasn't had his whole self featured on my blip until now. So here he is.

He and his sister Piper were retrieved from the Christchurch SPCA at about a year old, a few months after our first cat, Finn, was killed.

Unlike Finn, neither of these two bring home steaks stolen from the local supermarket (still wrapped), but they are great to have around. Both play for real - the only difference between the two is that because Piper's claws are incredibly sharp the first indication that she got you is not the pain, but the blood.

The new rug is fun too don't you think? We wanted it when we first saw it for $399 but at that price our dollar is more likely to be spent on hand-knotted persian rugs (we spent part of today [the day after this entry - isn't time travel great?] looking at some of those). I then spotted it reduced to $139 and decided to buy. Was happily surprised at the counter when I was asked for $69.50...
