Almost a perfect curve

The vet asked us to do Cookie cat's glucose curves today. He's diabetic and has insulin injections every 12 hours and every few months the vets monitor how he's doing to check he's still on the correct dosage. To do the glucose curve we take a blood sample from his ear every two hours for twelve hours and record the glucose level. Today's curve was much more regular than usual (which is hopefully a good sign), with just a slightly lower final reading so it's not a totally uniform curve. The middle zone is the ideal zone so he started a little high (high isn't too much of a worry for short term, it's the low zone we need to worry about). The bottom of the curve seemed to stop just above the low reading, and for the majority of the day he remained in the optimal zone. We're really happy with this curve, just hope the vet is too. I'll email it to them for their verdict.

It amazes me how technology enables us to test this at home, record it via specialist software, and email the results to the vet for them to help us maintain his levels appropriately with the right level of insulin. It's so much better for Cookie as stress affects glucose levels and he gets really stressed when he has to visit the vets so home monitoring suits him well and helps ensure he's on the correct dosage.
